You’d love to treat your ears to a premium-priced headset, but your budget won’t allow it. Luckily, you can get some decent sound and save a small pile of cash with Ozone’s Rage ST headset. You won’t find any better headset at its modest $42 price, but you will have to forgo a ton of extras.


The plasticky headset with its cloth-covered cups looks and feels cheap (the pair that Ozone sent over for review were bright yellow, but this model is also available in red, blue, black, and white). The cups are light as a feather, but their loose fit will cause them to slide all over your head if you move it too much. On the upside, they won’t suffocate you when they’re resting around your neck.

The stereo sound quality exceeded our expectations: It was crisp and clear, and it kept most background noise out. The loose fit and light weight might cause you to forget you’re wearing a headset altogether.


The headset supports 3.5mm microphone and headphone jacks—no USB here—and includes an inline volume/microphone-mute controller. The controller is bulky and doesn’t give you a shirt clip for easy access; but like the rest of the unit, it’s really light. Just don’t run over it with your chair or you may end up with a shattered mess.


The mic comes right off so you can use the Rage ST for music on the go.

The Rage ST includes a detachable, flexible microphone. You can show off this model's flashy colors when you're out and about by ditching the mic and using the headset with your MP3 player.


If your wallet won’t permit you to sink a lot of money into upgrading your listening pleasure, the Ozone Rage ST is a great choice for price, sound quality, and long-term comfort.
