Gary Hirshberg ? BAO Bad Ass Legend ? BAO Food and Drink

I think it?s safe to say that Gary Hirshberg practices what he preaches.? His message, also part of the title of his first book, is How to Make Money and Save the World.? He practices this message as president and CEO (or ?CE-YO? if you will) of Stonyfield Organic, the world?s leading organic yogurt producer.? His company supports family farmers by buying all of the milk for his products locally and organically.? Without family farmers our food could be produced solely by corporations that practice factory farming.? Plus, by using organic ingredients it ensures the end product will be free of pesticides, unnaturally added synthetic growth hormones, antibiotics, and GMOs.? When he?s not working on his organic products, Gary serves on several non-profit boards, including Climate Counts, and was recently appointed by President Obama to serve on Advisory Committee for Trade and Policy Negotiations.? Did we mention that he can also rap?? It?s his passion for organic food and working towards a food system without factory farming, however, that have earned him his latest title, this week?s BAO Bad Ass Legend.
